Quinn is one year old and I am just now starting a blog! Bad mommy! I realized that most of my facebook updates were all about Quinn and what new things he was doing so I figured it was about time I just create a blog. So... here is what is going on lately.
Quinn turned one on July 23rd. He shares his birthday with Nicolaas Visser (my friend Roxann's son). We spend lots of time together, it is fun having our boys grow up together and sharing the exciting new developments in our boys.
Quinn had a sailboat themed birthday party. I had fun making a lot of the decorations. I made the invitations, party hats, banner, placemats, and goody bags. I made sailboat shaped cookies and decorated them for each person to take home. Misty (sister-in-law, Quinn's aunt) made a sailboat shaped cake and some cupcakes. I made mini-sailboat cookies to top the cupcakes. I had enough toddler-sized seating for each of the kids that attended. I set up the tables with a placemat, plates, cups, plasticware, party hat, and goody bag. It was also a pool party so after the birthday festivities everyone got to swim and play in Quinn's water table.
I made a giant cupcake for Quinn to dive into. It was so big it took an entire batch of cake batter to make it. After Quinn enjoyed the giant cupcake for a bit his friends were invited to join him. They all had a lot of fun eating the cupcake! And I probably don't even have to mention that Quinn now LOVES cake!!
